PROCESSING TYPES

Our workhorse instrument is capable of processing polymeric materials in three different ways

Twin Screw Extrusion (TSE)

Conventional twin-screw extrusion for regular melt-blending and compounding purposes. Barrels and screws are heated.

Solid-State Shear Pulverization (SSSP)

Originated from Northwestern University labs, SSSP is a specialized, low-temperature pulverization / compounding / dispersion method.

Solid-State/ Melt Extrusion (SSME)

Uniquely developed at Bucknell University, SSME is a hybrid chilled/heated extruder technology for a range of practical applications.
